Which license applies to me?#
In short: if you are not offering ScaiLabs software as a competing service to third parties, the Community License covers you.

ScaiLabs Community License — at a glance#
- Free for internal use at any organization, regardless of size or revenue
- Free for personal, educational, research, and evaluation use
- Free to modify and create derivative works for the above purposes
- Source-available — full source code is provided
- Auto-converts to Apache License 2.0 two years after each release
You may not, under the Community License:
- Offer the software (or a derivative) as a hosted/managed service to third parties
- Remove copyright, trademark, or license notices
- Circumvent license-key or commercial-feature mechanisms
- Use the "Scai" name family to brand your derivatives without permission
ScaiLabs Commercial License — at a glance#
For organizations that need:
- The right to embed ScaiLabs software in commercial offerings to third parties
- Commercial warranties and IP indemnification
- Service-level agreements and support
- Custom deployment terms (on-premises, source escrow, sovereignty guarantees)
- Negotiated license metrics (per-deployment, per-tenant, per-CPU, etc.)
Pricing and license metrics are negotiated per Order Form.
Time-delayed open source#
Each released version of ScaiLabs software automatically becomes available under the Apache License 2.0 two years after its public release date under the Community License. This is a permanent, irrevocable conversion. We commit to this so the community can rely on a permissive open-source future for every version we publish.
