Using ScaiDrive in your browser
The web client at your organization's ScaiDrive URL (for example https://drive.example.com/) is the fastest way to get to your files from any device. There's nothing to install — sign in and you're in.
Signing in#
- Open your organization's ScaiDrive URL.
- Click Sign in. You'll be redirected to your company's single sign-on (ScaiKey).
- After authenticating, you'll land in the file browser with a list of every share you can access on the left.
If your organization uses two-factor authentication, you'll be prompted by the SSO provider — ScaiDrive itself doesn't ask for codes.
Finding your files#
Shares appear in the left sidebar. A share is a top-level container — usually one per team, project, or department. Click a share to open it.
Folders and files show in the main panel. Double-click to open a folder or preview a file. Use the breadcrumb at the top to navigate back up.
Search is at the top of the page. Type a few words; results include both keyword matches and (if your organization has semantic search enabled) AI-powered "find what I mean" results. Press Enter to expand to the full search page, where you can filter by share, file type, or date.
Uploading#
Three ways:
- Drag-and-drop a file or folder anywhere in the file browser.
- Click the Upload button in the toolbar and pick files.
- Paste an image from your clipboard into an open folder.
For files larger than a few hundred megabytes the client uploads in chunks and shows a progress bar; you can close the tab and come back — the upload resumes automatically.
Downloading#
Click a file to preview it, then Download from the toolbar. To download a whole folder, right-click and choose Download as zip.
Previewing#
The web client renders most common formats directly in the browser:
- Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), PDFs, images, video, audio
- Plain text, Markdown (with syntax-highlighted code blocks), JSON, XML, source code
Files that can't be previewed show their metadata; you can still download or share them.
Sharing#
See Sharing with your team for inviting people to a share, and External sharing for creating password-protected public links.
File history and recovery#
ScaiDrive keeps prior versions of every file. Right-click a file → Version history to see the list, preview an older version, or restore it. See File versions for details.
Settings#
The user menu (top-right) opens your personal settings: display name, profile picture, notification preferences, and active sessions. You can sign out of other devices from here.
What's next#
- Desktop sync app — keep a local folder in step with the server.
- Mobile apps — files on your phone, camera-roll backup.
- Sharing with your team.
